you guys admit I done goofed I meant to say season four instead of season five in my arrow tutorial video hey whats going on everybody welcome to try – my name is ravening today were going to draw the green arrow from the CWs arrow in season four of the arrow there was a huge huge change Oliver Queen no longer refers to himself as arrow key and Ill calls himself the green arrow and with that comes a brand new more tactical costume one that is more influenced by military jumpsuits as opposed to the olden days with Robin Hood and William Tell and all that stuff so brand new costume comes a brand new video so today were going to draw the Green Arrow using only a pencil and eraser at any type of white paper as you guys are watching keep in mind that I have fast forwarded a lot of the elements of this video to keep it shorter having said that feel free to pause at any time if you guys need to catch up on your drawing so lets not waste any more time sharpen up your lid lets get right to it before I start I just want to say that the reference phone that I used for this drawing is from the CW season 4 poster for the arrow so if you guys want you can continue with the bottom half that gets cut off here at the bottom of this drawing so first thing were going to do is were going to draw a circle for the head and you dont want to draw it too far out because were going to draw a fluid as well so heres the circle and then Im going to draw a line I remember this is all done very very lightly on draw line like this for the job and then lets draw the hood and Im going to start over here and Im going to draw a line that goes across the face to the other side of this far and then curls back in to about here were going to draw the neck and the neck is going to go down right around there so from here comes down like this to there dont erase anything yet lets continue on from here were going to draw the other side of the hood and decide and its going to go like this so this is the part of the hood where the face sticks out and now lets start the actual hood itself first thing Im going to draw is this line right here and then a fold going in like that and Im going to go back over here Im going to create the hood so you go up and in turn and then meet this part of the hood right there so there is the hood for the arrow from here were just going to draw the fabric going out like that and then were going to draw a line going across and thats the collar or its neck I star the shoulders now and which is going to draw some rough lines for the shoulders so one line there and think of where the shoulder might go on this side and were just going to draw a line across like that now lets tar the chest part for his costume and it goes across like this this is the top and in the bottom is going to be about this big just going to draw another line going across like that from here were going to draw up a line going down this is the zipper part of his jacket Im making this line thicker and then were going to extend it down about this much for now all right now lets draw the chest part and were going to find a spot right around here and were going to draw a strap that goes to his shoulder just like that and same thing over here right around here were going to find a spot and were going to draw a strap that goes up to his shoulder like that lets complete the strap and here lets complete that strap lets add details to it a little later on now here lets continue and
lets draw the shoulder pad and the shoulder pad is an oval shape so Im just going to draw an oval kind of like this you dont wanna make it oval too big make sure that the oval here the shoulder pad is smaller than the face if youve made it bigger than the face then its a little too big you might want to shrink it down so thats what a good size on this side we will do the side view of the shoulder pad goes around like this comes down and here you draw a line going out and then it needs a point over here now lets go back over here and were going to just kind of give the shoulder pad the shape that its supposed to have so I line like that and another line at the top like this and then were going to draw a strap over here this is going to be for the holster for his arrows Im just gonna darken this part okay lets move on and were going to go back over here and find a spot in the middle and were going to draw a line going down now lets find the other side of his waist and it looks approximately about here is a good size of it so if you notice this right here is bigger than this right here and thats thats intentional so you want to keep it like that so lets do that for now lets draw the bicep and were gonna start over here and were going to draw curved line going out but curves ever so slightly not too much but that much is good and from here were gonna do a tricep and its just a line going down like that and from here were going to draw the gauntlet and the gauntlet is just a line that goes across enough for the forearms Ill draw a curved line going down on this side and on the other side it goes wider and then it gets narrower now I dont have any room to draw his hand over here but if you guys just look at the reference photo feel free to add the hand right there lets continue lets go over on this side and were going to draw a line going down first and then a line going across for its gauntlet stops around here and were going to draw the forearm going across like this and then finish off the gauntlet on this side just like that now lets go back to its chest and torso area and the first thing I want to do is find the bottom of his jacket so its about here this is about a good size right there and then right about here about a quarter of the way from here going to there about a quarter of it right here find a spot and then we find a spot right around here at the bottom of this jacket were going to connect those two dots and we do the same thing on the side so right around here and right about here find the spot over here were going to draw a line that goes across just like that on that side and same thing from here to about here now were going to divide this section up into five different segments so what you want to do is you want to space it out theres one just the second one third fourth and fifth there you go so first second third fourth and fifth lets hang on this side from here Im going to draw a strap that goes up just like that and then same thing over here Im going to draw the curve here first and then a line that goes down now the next thing is find the spot over here were going to draw a line across and then a line going up from it same thing on the side and across and then the line going up and then we start over here draw a line across until it meets the side of the jacket here and then on this side right here draw a line across and were going to follow this line up here now from
here were going to draw a line across the bottom of the jacket here same thing on this side and then from here were going to continue that line going this way and then find a spot right around here we draw a line going up and then and then turns goes down on that side from here now were going to draw a strap going up and then a strap over here to close that off and there you go weve got the gist of his jacket lets just add a little bit of detail and were here two lines right here were going to draw some rectangles and this is going to be the buckles on these two straps these two straps carry a lot of his gear and theyre circular shape so you want to make cylinders so thats what Im going to do so Im just going to make one cylinder there and another cylinder here and two more cylinders above it and just one kind of hidden kind at the top of the shoulder or towards the back so thats one strap and the other the other strap is a little bit easier because you just youre just going to draw the cylinders as they look from the top so theyre pretty much just four rectangles no and Im just going to draw the strap or the cylinders are now before we continue with the rest of the body I think we should zoom in on the face and lets try to draw Green Arrows face first thing Im going to do is erase these guidelines here because we dont need them anymore and before I start with the face Im just going to draw the arrow shape on his hood Im going to start with a backwards L shape and then from here Im going to draw a curve the point going like this and here do the same thing just one shade that in there you go now Im going to start by drawing a line across like this and then right around here Im gonna draw the bridge of the nose so Im gonna start it around this point and then Im going to draw a line going out and then a day I dont line going in and then itll end going across the draw a little curve like that for the nostril and Im going to draw a curve for the top of the nostril there lets draw the mask and Im going to find a spot over here and then just draw a curve going out to the side of the face and then find a spot right around here and then just draw a line going down and then across for the eyes Im going to draw a line across like this and its pretty much just a trapezoid shape so it goes across and it curves inwards and then across again and then over here Im going to draw from here line across goes down slightly and then goes back and then and then another line across lets draw the mouth so Im gonna start over here when you draw a little bit right there and then Im going to draw a really flat triangle and then a line at the bottom for the lower lip lets give this out of this face a little bit of a better shape so Im gonna draw a cheekbone and then Im going to draw a better jawline fix up your green arrow face as much as you can and like I said before if it looks nothing like Stephen Amell that is totally fine thats not what were going for Im just gonna darken some lines here before we do some shading and Im going to show you in this mask and Im going to give him some 5 oclock shadow just a really faint shrink one right here above the mouth and it goes down to the side of the face and right up to the bottom of the lower lip just like this and I think thats pretty good Im going to shade in his collar just kind of shade that darker and there you have it all along his chest hes got a whole bunch of rivets so lets find exactly
where those rivets go and they are right here in this corner and this corner and then at the bottom left of each of these sections of his jacket and one right there so top right and bottom right bottom light bottom right bottom right and right there hes also got one right there and here another one right here and right here here and about here Im going to go ahead and darken these lines right here and what as I do that Im going to give them a little bit more of a padded shape so Im going to give them a little bit of shading as well and in some parts of this costume were going to shade in starting over here Im just going to shave this part in and this part right here now this part over here Im going to draw some lines going down and thats just a way the fabric looks shading over here and here and the shade in this triangle underneath this chest as well see Im just going to draw some wrinkles and somewhere over here okay I think we got the chest right now just going to draw kind of where his legs are supposed to go but Im not going to continue with it Im just going to draw kind of a zipper line here just where they meet and Im just going to like I do in the other videos that I have Im just going to shade it in lightly like this but if you guys want to add details to yours feel free to do that oh I almost forgot there are two rivets that go from here here and there and then one more here and right there now lets focus on as artists and lets start off over here on a shoulder pad here lets start off over here and were going to draw our line went down a really faint one going down like this and were going to find a spot over here and draw a line across and I do another one right here and then another one here at the bottom but the one at the bottom goes back up like this once we get to this line were going to draw a small line that goes up and then across like this same thing here and then across and lets double that episode Im going to draw a similar line above it same thing over here and then double this up and up here as well and you can go ahead and make a three dimensional by by adding these bumps here on the side and that just gives it a more padded look hes got rivets and the rivets are about there theyre in there and here here theyre gonna shade this part in I want to make sure that I can still see this strap shade this part in as well lets draw a line across the bicep and then were gonna find a little spot right here and then youre gonna draw a little curve like that and then goes out to the side of his arm on this bicep its got a little t-shirt underneath I start the t-shirt line goes right there and then its dark in that and then its dark in this strap Im just going to create a little bit of shadow here under the bicep and a line going down like that to show this forearm muscle and then now lets focus on the forearm and Im going to close it off right around here and I want to extend this line a little bit further up like this because theres a strap there actually with a rivet right in the middle so draw a circle right in the middle make my way back up and then another strap right there Im just going to shake it in just like that right here Im going to draw a line going down and then we start over here in the draw a line going up and now Im going to divide this into four so find the middle first heres the middle and then divide it into four and Im going to shape decide in its going to draw some lines where his hands
supposed to go now lets move along to the other side and we just want to draw a line going across like that and it goes down and then across the same thing again over here lets cross and cross again and here at the top were just going to draw a line across in and up we double those lines and then add some padding by adding this little bump here on the side and then same thing here and same thing here at the top and here Im just going to draw a line going like this and then shade it in double that line shade in the top draw the rivets start the t-shirt line and then shade it in and then curve and then a strap goes across the bicep like this close it off here at the bottom and shade this in Im going to create some shadow for the bicep and then a line for the forearm and then now lets focus on the gauntlet goes across like this find a spot over here draw a line across and then curves and goes down now when youre finding this line these two should be about the same the same height and same thing over here and close it off at the bottom continue on with this strap draw the line for the forearm draw a line for the strap over here and then close it off Im going to draw a line that goes up and then the start line so one two three four and then five right here close that off and make it look like paddy shade this in and this is well just glance for the hand and thats it right here Im going to draw a straight line a really faint one and this is where I want my arrows to end right behind him hes got it holster to his back so Im going to start from here and Im going to start making lines diagonally and up to you how many arrows you want to add in here Im just going to put a few now the reference drawing theres going to be quite a bit so if you want to add more feel free to do that okay so Ive erased the top line and now lets draw the feathers and the feathers are kind of upside-down teardrop shapes and first Im going to determine which arrows are at the front and Im going to draw their feathers first so just layer them one about the other and try to keep the feathers roughly around the same same line because the arrows are supposed to be the same size same length and now what we have to do is just darken some lines add some shadows and we should be finished and there you have it you guys that is the green arrow from season 4 of The CWs arrow and thats all the time that we have today thank you for watching all the way to the end of this video I hope your drawings of the green arrow turned out great if you guys are interested specifically on the things that I use to draw the green arrow I have descriptions down below as well as the equipment that I use to make this video question of the day which do you prefer do you prefer the old arrow costume or do you like this brand new green arrow costume let me know down in the comments as well if this is your first time here I would love to have you guys subscribe to this channel here I show you guys how to draw many different characters and easy simple step-by-step instructions so if you guys like what you see come join the dry 2 community by hitting that subscribe button right below me right here if you guys found this tutorial helpful it would be great if you guys liked it commented or share this video with your friends dont forget you guys can find me on Twitter Facebook Instagram and Google+ be sure to join Google+ and share your drawings out of the green arrow there and as always stay tuned for more so you can learn to draw – well see you guys next time
