this is crystal meadow with a video on how to do a 50 meter swim underwater but before we begin you might want to check out my other video called 6 tips on how to hold your breath longer on the water a link to the video is up in the left corner before we begin the swim we want to sit down and totally relax our body we want to take deep breaths and we want to breathe out for twice as long as we breathe in so if you breathe in for about 2 seconds you breathe out for about 4 seconds when you do the swim itself you want to be as relaxed as possible in the water you want to take a stroke and just glide forward and then when you slow down you take another stroke and just glide forward again
dont try to swim as fast as possible because when you stress and you try to swim fast you use a lot more oxygen than when you do it this way I like to breathe for about 2 minutes if Im going to do a 50 meter swim do not hyperventilate then you might black out on the water without notice this is really important so when you feel youre ready you take 3 deep breaths and then on the last breath you blow out all the air in your lungs and then you breathe in as deep as possible and you go try to just glide forward in the water try to save as much energy as possible and also remember the deeper you go in the water the more oxygen you use you can also think about what youre wearing because if youre wearing
a big fluffy shorts that will create a lot more resistance in the water than the pants Im wearing so youll be slower and you will use a lot more oxygen when you get further into your swim you might feel a need for oxygen dont let this feeling of needing to greed lure you into trying to swim faster to get faster to the other side of the pool you want to stay as relaxed as possible and you just want to continue through with your dive without stressing doing controlled strokes and just gliding through the water with your lungs filled with air your body is buoyant so you might want to consider to use a weight belt to help you stay neutral in the water as you can see in the video here Im floating up so a lot of the energy Im
